Hingham Cleaner Greener Committee schedules April 11 cleanup, expands composting programs. Co-chair Janice McPhillips and committee members approved minutes from the March 12 meeting and outlined 2026 education goals including articles and social media outreach. Black Earth residential compost enrollment has grown to 189 households, up 28 since the program began.
At Hingham High School, a contracted composting program picks up four toters of food waste weekly through the 2026-2027 school year. Committee members also scheduled a town-wide cleanup for April 11, with Girl Scouts already signed up.
