HINGHAM — Cleaner Greener Hingham Committee sets five environmental priorities and welcomes new members. Co-chair Janice McPhillips led the July 16 meeting, which added Kathleen Scannel and Nicolaas (Nick) Barrett to the committee. The board established goals including 250 new Black Earth Composting signups by November, 1 to 2 monthly social media posts, website updates, limiting waste haulers, and increased redeemable can deposits at the Transfer Station.
Patricia Burke, Town Sustainability Coordinator, reported 31 new Black Earth signups since January, with committee members planning education sessions at the Transfer Station beginning July 26.
