Hingham Board of Health condemns septic-deficiency property; orders vacancy effective June 1st. On its third meeting addressing 156 Chief Justice Cushing Highway, the Board voted unanimously to condemn the dwelling associated with applicant Frederick Butts, citing persistent building, sanitary, and Title 5 septic-code violations. Butts requested a three- to four-week extension to complete remediation but has been living in the uncertified property.
Executive Health Officer Susan Sarni noted that Butts had received three formal orders earlier this year and that violations had continued for years. In related business, the Board approved a 2026 pool permit for Meadows Condominium Association with the condition that no person under age 21 may access the pool without a certified lifeguard present.
