Select Board approves $1.1M for high school design funding

Hingham Select Board unanimously authorizes $1.1M for high school design phase. Chair Liz Klein and Selectmen Bill Ramsey and Julie Strehle approved the additional funding to advance design completion to April 2027 and construction completion to June 2030, following a School Building Committee presentation. The Board also unanimously placed two debt exclusion questions on the November 3 special election ballot for Plymouth River and South Elementary School roof replacements, with the Town anticipating a 36.89 percent reimbursement from the Massachusetts School Building Authority on eligible costs.
The Board further approved contracts with Axon Enterprise for police Taser training and equipment totaling $358,678.20 and with LKB Engineering for basketball court design and permitting services not to exceed $78,000, with construction projected to conclude before the school year begins.
