Council on Aging welcomes three new members, structures operations

Hingham's Council on Aging restructures operations with new membership. The board approved amended meeting minutes and officially welcomed three new members: Maureen Spillane, Donald Marsters, and Sharon Hampton, who was excused from the July 14 meeting. The Council established standing committees for budget, facilities, outreach and communications, and volunteer programs.
During public comment, resident Kathy Berry raised concerns about the Center for Active Living's facilities, including toilet height, lack of grab bars, and furniture mobility, and requested the newsletter be redesigned with simplified fonts and colors and include the calendar. FOCAL, a funding organization, asked the Council for a priority wish list of needed items, with FOCAL liaison Yvette Kanter coordinating requests.
