Advisory Committee unanimously approves FY 2027 budgets totaling $9.9 million.

Advisory Committee · Meeting of January 20, 2026

Hingham Advisory Committee unanimously approves eight departmental budgets and three warrant articles for fiscal year 2027. The Department of Public Works budget totals $5,008,462, a 2.9 percent increase, with Superintendent Ashley Broyer training employees to obtain commercial driver's licenses to reduce outside contractor costs. The Recreation Department's $2.9 million revolving fund limit--up from $2.7 million--is designed to hedge against strong summer camp enrollment.

The Transfer Station, now budgeted at $2,022,463 with a 13.3 percent increase in personnel costs, may face rate review after the committee noted disposal fees fall short of peer-town levels.
