Advisory Committee splits 9-5 on Active Living center

HINGHAM — Advisory Committee votes narrowly to recommend Active Living center construction. The committee voted 9-5 to recommend Article P for construction of the Center for Active Living, with members Steven Pohl, Alan Macdonald, Brian Stack, John Germain, and Jerry Seelen voting against. The committee voted unanimously to recommend the sale of 86 Central Street and to take no action on a citizens petition to amend the noise bylaw.

The committee also heard a presentation on a 35.4 million dollar Route 3A safety project, fully funded by state and federal sources, designed to improve pedestrian access and safety.
