Hingham Select Board Approves Golf Club License, DPW Union Contract

HINGHAM — October 28, 2025 — Hingham Select Board unanimously approves new golf club liquor license and three-year DPW labor deal. The three-member board, chaired by William Ramsey and joined by Elizabeth Klein and Julie Strehle, voted 3-0 Tuesday to grant an all-alcoholic restaurant license to KH1 LLC, doing business as Cove Club at 20 Broad Cove Road, a 9,600-square-foot indoor golf and dining facility under active construction on the site of a 1922 ballroom. Manager Robert Headley said more than 100 households have already expressed membership interest, with 72 percent seeking family memberships. The board also signed a memorandum of agreement with Teamsters Local Union 25 covering DPW rank-and-file workers through June 30, 2028, including a 3-and-3 salary increase and equity adjustments for three of four pay grades benchmarked against 19 comparable towns. Personnel Board negotiator Jack Manning called the outcome "a really meaningful conclusion" that balanced cost control with recognition of workers who have served the town for up to 40 years.
