Hingham Advisory Committee reviews $38.4M budget proposal below spending cap. Town Administrator Tom Mayo presented fiscal 2027 department budgets totaling $38,447,617, staying below the town's $38,507,520 Memorandum of Understanding limit. The Elections Department requested $59,235, a 61.99 percent increase due to three scheduled elections.
Multiple departments presented requests, including the Hingham Public Library at $2,527,284 and the Building Department at $416,784, a 9.25 percent reduction. Town Administrator Mayo recommended enhancements including $25,000 for cybersecurity improvements and $10,000 for IT software licenses.
