Trust advances warrant article authorizing Select Board review of Lincoln School

Hingham Affordable Housing Trust moves Lincoln School Apartments proposal forward. The Trust voted January 20 to present a warrant article to the Select Board for potential affordable housing redevelopment of the property, with a hearing tentatively scheduled for February 24 or 26. Chair Jack Falvey will prepare presentation materials for resident and neighbor meetings scheduled during the week of Presidents' Day and via a separate online session.
The Community Preservation Committee allocated $605,000 to the Trust's Opportunity Fund for individual home purchases but allocated no funds for Lincoln School preservation work, though Town Counsel has opined that such preservation is a permitted use of CPC funds.
