Hingham Select Board unanimously approved 11 warrant articles for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting. Chair Bill Ramsey, Ms. Liz Klein, and Ms.
Julie Strehle advanced proposals to sell 8 Short Street and 230 North Street, establish a real estate transfer fee, withdraw Fire and Police from state Civil Service, and transfer approximately $2.1 million from the Capital Cost and Debt Service Stabilization Fund to offset debt service impacts. The board approved a $1.35 million one-year appropriation from fund balance to subsidize employee health care costs, temporarily raising the town's contribution to 60 percent. Departments presented FY27 budgets with most requesting no increases beyond wage and step adjustments; the Building Department budget decreased 9.2 percent.
