Hingham Select Board Interviews Three Finalists for DPW Superintendent Post

HINGHAM — March 19, 2025 — Hingham Select Board interviews three finalists for permanent DPW superintendent. Select Board members Joe Fischer, Bill Ramsey, and Liz Klene questioned candidates Mark Lundine, a regional construction manager and Hingham native; an outside candidate identified as Arsenal, who served as superintendent in Braintree managing roughly $3 million annually in road work and $3 million in water and sewer infrastructure; and Ashley Sanford, the current acting superintendent, who cited a $60,000 custodial supply savings she achieved before moving to DPW and said she completed the majority of the department's FY26 capital budget presentation independently. All three named road maintenance as the top infrastructure cost driver. Sanford described active improvements including a new plastics-separation compactor at the transfer station and a fleet management software rollout. The board said it will accept public comment via the town administrator's email and expects to deliberate and decide the week of March 24.
