Hingham Select Board Approves Licenses, Appointments, and FY26 Goals in Packed Session

HINGHAM — June 10, 2025 — Hingham Select Board unanimously approved proclamations, licenses, and a sweeping FY26 goal agenda at its June 10 meeting. Chair Bill Ramsey and members Julie Strehle and Elizabeth Klein proclaimed June 2025 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month and June 19 as Juneteenth Independence Day, then approved four special one-day wine and malt beverage licenses for Summer Solstice events at World's End — drawing an estimated 1,000 to 1,500 attendees — and Weir River Farm Sunset Picnics. The board approved ownership changes at Main Street Market and Spirits and Burton's Grill, both subject to the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, and voted to petition the state legislature for a special act under Article 97 tied to a town meeting mandate. In a joint session, consultants Alex Tramner and Tom Doritzky of Camoin Associates presented a three-phase economic development strategic plan recommending senior housing, a chain hotel, medical office space, and trophy office development across the downtown, Shipyard, and South Hingham districts — with Klein volunteering to reconstitute the Sustainable Budget Task Force ahead of the town's management MOU expiring entering FY28.
