Board of Assessors increases invoice approval threshold for department head.

Board of Assessors · Meeting of September 10, 2026

HINGHAM — Board of Assessors raises invoice approval threshold for department head. The board unanimously authorized Director of Assessing Erin Delaney to approve and sign invoices up to $5,000, an increase from $1,000, after processing delays prompted a review of the approval procedure. Assistant Assessor Jacquie Berard noted the Select Board is the only town board with a specific requirement to sign invoices exceeding $20,000.

The board plans to revisit the $5,000 threshold at a future meeting as the office transitions to the new process.
