Hingham Board of Assessors plans public education effort on property grades. The board discussed website enhancements and a proposed presentation to explain assessments to residents, following resident inquiries about grading criteria. Board members Randall Winters, Joshua Ross, and Sara Abbott, along with Assessor Erin Delaney, noted a significant increase in abatement applications: 77 filings this year versus 48 in the prior year, a 60 percent increase.

Assessor Ross proposed developing and recording a presentation on the assessment process and coordinating with the Anchor; a separate meeting was scheduled with a Linden Ponds resident regarding that property's assessment.
