Hingham Select Board Unanimously Endorses $165.75 Million FY26 Budget
HINGHAM — March 27, 2025 — Hingham Select Board unanimously recommends $165.75 million FY26 budget for Annual Town Meeting. Meeting remotely on March 27, Board Chair Joe Fiser and members Bill Ramsey and Liz Klein worked through more than a dozen sequential roll-call votes covering every major spending category. The largest single appropriation was the school department at roughly $72 million; public safety came to $11,093,642 and debt service to $13,695,550. Staff confirmed the budget is balanced after cuts of approximately $800,000, with $334,500 drawn from reserves. Ramsey recused himself from the police and human services line-item votes without stating a reason on the record, though he participated in the aggregate totals once individual lines were incorporated.
