Hingham Advisory Committee re-votes property-sale article ahead of Annual Town Meeting. Chair Carol Tully's committee unanimously approved a corrected version of Article 22, fixing a scrivener's error in language directing proceeds from the sale of 8 Short Street to the Capital Stabilization fund. The panel also discussed Article 28 regarding Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant capital improvements and an 18 percent rate increase; Laura Burns of the Hingham Light Board recommended withdrawing the article and re-presenting it at a 2026 Special Town Meeting with clearer communication to ratepayers about the remaining 11 percent of the planned increase yet to be implemented.
