Advisory Committee approves FY26 transfers, eyes October roof votes

Hingham Advisory Committee closes FY26 with transfers and school roof planning. The committee unanimously approved multiple departmental transfers and authorized Vice Chair Kevin Freytag to approve additional transfers up to $20,000 through mid-July. School Building Committee liaisons reported South and Plymouth River Elementary School roofs, estimated at approximately $12 million with potential 36 percent funding offset, could face a Special Town Meeting vote in late October, with cost quotes due by mid-July and an SBC vote August 18.
Committee members reported the town's contributory retirement fund is approximately 79 percent fully funded per KMS Actuaries evaluation, and Hingham Municipal Light Plant expects to confirm a power line path by late August.
