Conservation Commission examines pickleball courts, wetlands at Bare Cove Park.

Conservation Commission · Meeting of April 27, 2026

HINGHAM — Conservation Commission conducted a site visit to review a Notice of Intent application by the Town of Hingham Recreation Department for eight pickleball courts and 11 parking spaces at 25 Bare Cove Park Drive. Jay Hall, PWS from CHA, presented the 8,700-square-foot project and noted that runoff would drain to a retention basin while no work is proposed within 100 feet of a Certified Vernal Pool. Mike Moonan, Project Manager for CHA, indicated test pits were scheduled to evaluate infiltration rates and groundwater.

Conservation Officer Shannon Palmer noted the Commission may consider time-of-year restrictions for activity near the vernal pool.
