Patch: Hingham School Roof Costs Jump To $24M Before Town Meeting

Hingham school roof replacement costs have reportedly climbed to $24 million ahead of a fall Town Meeting vote, according to Patch, as Town Hall also moved to formalize how early primary ballots will be handled this week.

The town issued a formal notice explaining how ballots cast during early in-person voting will be processed ahead of the September 1 state primary. Per the notice, Hingham will open and/or deposit early voted ballots at Town Hall in accordance with Chapter 54, Section 25B of state law, as amended by the VOTES Act, once early in-person voting gets underway this week.

Separately, the Select Board and town administrator's office rolled out a new Weekly Update for the week of August 24, a communication and outreach effort intended to give residents meeting notices, upcoming events and other helpful information heading into each week.
