The Town of Hingham announced Oct. 21 that the town clerk's office will begin processing early voted ballots ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

Under the state's VOTES Act, the town will open and deposit early voted state and town ballots at Town Hall, 210 Central Street, during a series of sessions. The sessions are scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m., and Friday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. A fifth session, if needed, is set for Sunday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m.

Residents who wish to observe the ballot processing are asked to register in advance, by the end of the prior business day, by emailing townclerk@hingham-ma.gov.

No results from the early ballot processing will be determined or announced until after polls close on Nov. 3. At that point, results from the advance-processed ballots will be combined with Election Day results and posted outside the town clerk's office and on the Town of Hingham website.
