Hingham School Committee Unanimously Awards Superintendent Roberts Exemplary Annual Rating

HINGHAM — July 13, 2026 — Hingham School Committee unanimously awards Superintendent Katie Roberts an exemplary summative evaluation for 2025-2026. The committee voted 7-0 Monday to approve the year-end evaluation under the Massachusetts educator evaluation framework, giving Roberts the top rating on three of four DESE performance standards — instructional leadership, management and operations, and family and community engagement — and a proficient on the fourth. Chair Jen Benham read the composite committee narrative aloud, citing Roberts' leadership through "budget constraints involving instructional initiatives, facility projects, and increasing student and community needs." The committee also unanimously appointed member Kerri Neill as liaison to a new town-wide health insurance task force studying Hingham's 50-percent employer premium contribution, the lowest rate allowed by state law, with a target report date of approximately October 1. Director of Curriculum and Instruction Erica Pollard presented end-of-year MTSS data showing 87 percent of kindergarteners at or above reading benchmark and math growth in grades three through five ranging from 126 to 133 percent of typical annual targets.
