Zoning Board of Appeals approves pickle-ball courts; continues deck and pool variance

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Hingham Zoning Board of Appeals approves eight pickle-ball courts at Bare Cove Park. Chair Robyn Maguire and members Paul Healey and Jed Ruccio unanimously granted Special Permit A2 for the town-funded project, which will replace an unsafe, contaminated former Naval Depot building. The Board imposed sound attenuation on all four sides of exterior fencing and limited hours to 8 a.m. to dusk.

Two other applications continued: Jared and Erin Krieger's variance for a pool and deck at 25 Mill Lane, and Vetcor of Massachusetts' Special Permit A1 for a Hingham Animal Clinic addition at 146 Chief Justice Cushing Highway, both to June 16.
