Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of January 28, 2026

HINGHAM — Zoning Board grants two Special Permits at remote hearing. Acting Chair Paul Healey, with Regular Members Jed Ruccio and Lauren Galvin present, unanimously approved John Alessi's application to construct a three-bay garage and accessory dwelling unit addition at 25 Free Street, finding the proposal compliant with all zoning requirements and compatible with the neighborhood. In a separate unanimous vote, the board granted Special Permit A1 to Christopher McDowell and Skybox Development for a 106-foot dock, access stairs, and non-permanent float at 55 Whiton Avenue, determining the structure appropriate for waterfront recreational use with no impact to vehicles, pedestrians, or boat traffic.
