Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of January 13, 2026
HINGHAM — Zoning Board approves Center for Active Living at Bare Cove Park. The board unanimously backed the 26,000-square-foot public building on 5.38 acres off Bare Cove Park Drive, with Chair Robyn Maguire, Regular Member Jed Ruccio, and Associate Member Mario Romania, Jr., finding the use harmonious with the Zoning By-Law and compatible with adjacent open space. The project includes climate-friendly design features, improved park pedestrian access, and a water line extension to support a fire hydrant and hydration station.
In a separate action, the board unanimously approved a Major Modification for Hingham Launch Property, LLC and Hingham Shipyard Hospitality, Inc., allowing seasonal patio seating expansion at 18 Shipyard Drive without increasing total restaurant seats or parking demand.
