Weir River Estuary Park Committee approves prior minutes, welcomes new member.
Weir River Estuary Park Committee · Meeting of January 13, 2026
HINGHAM — Tri-town estuary park panel votes to support Cohasset sidewalk. The Weir River Estuary Park Committee, serving Cohasset, Hingham, and Hull, unanimously approved a letter supporting Cohasset's plan to build sidewalks from the Greek Church to Black Rock Beach, part of broader efforts to improve public access around Straits Pond. Hull reported the Eastman Road Trail to the Island will proceed when weather permits, with DPW construction assistance anticipated.
A major development: the Commonwealth has deemed estuary waters clean enough for shellfish harvesting, though towns must develop enforcement regulations. Chair Scott Plympton will draft the annual report by March 1.
