Hingham Water Board approves $1.31M infrastructure contract. The Board of Water Commissioners unanimously approved the agreement with APEX Companies LLC for design, bidding, and construction services on the Strawberry Hill Tank and Booster Pump Station project serving the Weir River Water System, with construction targeted to begin in June 2026 and completion by December 2027. Russell Tierney, Water and Sewer Superintendent, noted the combined project offers potential cost savings through shared on-site representation.
The Board scheduled a January 28 public hearing on a proposed 3 percent water rate increase and $65 surcharge effective July 1 to fund infrastructure improvements.
