HINGHAM — Sewer Commission approves FY27 operating and capital budgets totaling $4.2 million over five years. Water and Sewer Superintendent Russell Tierney presented the operating budget reflecting a three percent inflationary increase and a capital plan keeping annual spending under $800,000 to manage debt service. The Commission unanimously authorized the Town Administrator to execute the Weston and Sampson Operations and Maintenance Amendment Number 1 to allow vendor billing while the town consolidates its repair services contracts, though Commissioner Joe Fisher flagged a five percent cost increase as higher than typical industry rates.
The Commission also approved December sewer abatements for five addresses and scheduled a February 25 public meeting with the Board of Health to discuss sewer expansion and future infrastructure plans.
