HINGHAM — Select Board advances health care subsidy and real estate transfer fee for town meeting. The Board voted unanimously to recommend Article FF, temporarily increasing the Town's health care cost share from 50 to 60 percent for one year, responding to staff and union concerns about rising premiums. The Board voted 2-0 to recommend Article X, a 1 percent real estate transfer fee on sales above $863,000 to fund affordable housing, with Chair Bill Ramsey and Ms.

Liz Klein in favor and Julie Strehle opposed. The Board also unanimously approved a $2.3 million appropriation from the Capital Project Cost and Debt Service Stabilization Fund for FY27 and endorsed $1.86 million in Community Preservation Act allocations across administrative costs, affordable housing, property restoration, and recreational improvements.
