Hingham Select Board unanimously hires two lateral police officers. The board voted to extend conditional offers to Brendan Debra Ley from the Provincetown Police Department and Evan Barbera from the West Hartford Police Department as permanent Police Officers. Both candidates bring five and three years of experience respectively, allowing faster deployment to summer patrols than academy trainees.
Offers are contingent on medical examination, Physical Abilities Test, psychological screening, Police Academy completion if applicable, and a $4,650 recruitment training fee repayment agreement requiring five years of employment commitment.
