HINGHAM — Select Board approves sustainable purchasing policy and advances Route 3A petition filing. Chair Liz Klein, Bill Ramsey, and Julie Strehle voted unanimously to adopt the Sustainable Purchasing Policy, required by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for continued grant eligibility; DPW Superintendent Ashley Broyer reported $6,000 in transfer station funding last year. The board also unanimously approved filing a Special Act petition for the Route 3A Project, which authorizes transfer of parcels to MassDOT and provides the town compensation equal to 110 percent of land value.
In separate votes, the board proclaimed Maddie's Promise Day and National Safe Boating Week, approved installation of an MBTA Route 714 bus stop on Hull Street at no cost to the town, and appointed Charlie Hayes to the Historical Commission through June 30, 2029.
