HINGHAM — Select Board approves healthcare subsidy article with study component, removes transfer fee from warrant. The board unanimously backed revised Article FF, which will provide a one-time payment offsetting roughly 10 percent of employee healthcare costs while commissioning a study to guide future cost-sharing decisions, per Town Administrator Tom Mayo. In a 2-1 vote, Chair Bill Ramsey and Julie Strehle removed the real estate transfer fee (Article X) from the warrant after Advisory Committee raised concerns, with Liz Klein voting against removal.
The board also unanimously authorized a $69,745 contract with Boston Light & Sound for Town Meeting audiovisuals and approved waiving $196,361 in 2025 rent for Lincoln School Apartments, redirecting that amount to building reserves for extensive exterior and interior repairs.
