Hingham Select Board advances $173M FY27 budget to Town Meeting. Assistant Town Administrator for Finance Katie Dugan reported final healthcare premiums of $9,007,640, a 7.1 percent increase that came in $239,000 below prior estimates, bringing the five-year forecast to balance. Chair Bill Ramsey and board members Julie Strehle and Liz Klein voted unanimously to recommend all budget articles except police, on which Ramsey abstained; education funding of $73,880,041 and employee benefits of $19,848,370 make up the largest components.
The board also approved warrant articles for the Route 3A improvement project, enabling land and easement acquisition for a 1.7-mile safety corridor directed by MassDOT, and recommended favorable action on the Affordable Housing Trust's proposed disposition of 86 Central Street with deed restrictions.
