Hingham Select Board approves $150,000 HVAC maintenance contract. Chair Liz Klein led the board in unanimously approving a $150,000 not-to-exceed agreement with Preferred Mechanical Services, Inc., which has maintained Town Hall since 1998. Procurement Manager David Sequeira reported that Preferred Mechanical's bid was more than $24,000 lower than the second-lowest of three responsive bids.
The 24-month contract begins July 1, 2026, and includes an optional one-year extension. Residents from Shipyard Drive requested the board pursue additional action on MBTA Route 220 bus service, citing concerns about vehicle speeds, emissions, and scheduling misalignment with ferry service.
