HINGHAM — School Building Committee approves three construction managers and geothermal test well. The committee unanimously pre-qualified Bond Brothers, Consigli Construction, and WT Rich from an initial pool of seven firms, eliminating GVW, TRAC Builders, and Colantonio for insufficient Chapter 149A and geothermal experience. In a separate 3-1 vote, with Chair Angela Thedinga abstaining, the committee authorized an 800-foot test well estimated at $90,000 or more to determine whether deeper wells could reduce total well count from 200 to 150 and lower overall project costs.

Kevin Riordan of Dietz & Company emphasized that early test-well data would inform the schematic design package, avoiding costly construction-phase changes.
