Hingham approves $598K in accelerated design work for high school project. The School Building Committee voted 5-0 with one abstention to advance extended schematic design services, moving 25 percent of design-development work forward ahead of the December Massachusetts School Building Authority submission deadline. Committee member Brian Mulkerrin abstained, citing risk to town funds.
The Select Board also approved a revised warrant article requesting $1.115 million in additional High School funding for the October special town meeting, while the Committee received budget increases for two elementary school projects: South Elementary's budget rose to $8.576M and Plymouth River Elementary's rose by $131,306, both for newly required accessibility and solar-readiness work.
