Route 3A Task Force advances design, targets March MassDOT submission.

Route 3A Task Force · Meeting of February 24, 2026

HINGHAM — Route 3A Task Force clears MassDOT design review without roadway changes. Engineers Eric Carlson, JR Frey, and Matt Mui briefed chair Judy Sneath and members on the state agency's feedback to 100 percent design documents submitted in December; no shifts to the roadway or shared-use path are required, and MassDOT's Right-of-Way plans are due by March 6. The task force discussed Article 97 warrant article language for Town Meeting and confirmed it affects only town-owned property.

Landscape revisions will include stamped concrete instead of cobblestone pavement on plowable surfaces, and removal of a nonparticipating swing feature. Conservation Commission meetings begin March 9.
