Planning Board Approves Pilates Edit Health Club Permit

Planning Board unanimously approved a Special Permit for The Pilates Edit health club at 25 Main Street.

Planning Board · Meeting of July 27, 2026

HINGHAM — Planning Board unanimously approved a Special Permit for The Pilates Edit health club at 25 Main Street. Chair Tracy Shriver's board determined that under Institute of Transportation Engineers standards the health club requires six parking spaces, with the 67-space Merchants Lot and public street parking deemed adequate. Applicant Gabrielle Brait said the facility would offer approximately five classes daily, capped at 16 participants each, with an instructor and receptionist.

The board also heard a residential site plan review at 709 Main Street from applicant Michael Ahern, whose proposal to convert a three-unit home to two units with a detached accessory dwelling unit prompted neighbors' traffic and safety concerns on Mill Lane; the board continued the hearing to August 10, 2026.
