Historical Commission Books Jack Smith, Andrew Weissmann For 2026 Lecture Series

The Hingham Historical Commission announced Thursday that Jack Smith, the former special counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice, will appear in conversation with Andrew Weissmann, a former assistant U.S. attorney, as part of the 2026 Virginia Tay Memorial Lecture Series. Separately, today is the last day to register to vote ahead of the Sept. 1 primary, with early in-person voting opening Saturday.

Town officials are reminding residents that today, Aug. 20, is the final day to register to vote for the Sept. 1 primary. Early in-person voting begins Saturday, giving residents an additional window to cast ballots before Primary Day, according to the town's News Flash announcement.
