Traffic Committee · Meeting of August 6, 2026

Hingham Traffic Committee votes on four-way stop and speed limits. The committee unanimously recommended implementing a four-way stop at the North Street/Main Street/Fearing Road intersection and reducing speed limits to 25 mph on High Street (both directions approaching French/Ward) and Shipyard Drive (between Lincoln Street and HMS Essington Drive). The votes advance safety recommendations from the town's SS4A Federal Grant partnership with the Boston Region MPO.

Deputy David Levenson flagged concerns about emergency-vehicle access, including ladder-truck navigation at proposed roundabouts being considered for High Street at French/Ward and Main/Cushing/South Pleasant.
