HDC approves roof-height increase and window replacement for South Lane home

Historic Districts Commission · Meeting of May 21, 2026

HINGHAM — Historic Districts Commission approves two certificates and continues three applications. The Commission unanimously authorized a roof-height increase and window replacement at 2 South Lane in the Lincoln Historic District Extension, conditioned on the applicants submitting a revised elevation showing three traditionally proportioned windows instead of the originally proposed design. A second unanimous vote approved removal and replacement of a fence at 38 Fearing Road, subject to reducing the front section to four feet and setting the fence back from the front corner of the house.

Applications from Amanda Cease, Hingham Congregational Church, and Nathan and Lindsay McCurran were continued to future meetings pending more detailed plans and revised materials.
