HINGHAM — Community Preservation Committee hears final presentations on six grant applications totaling $2.06 million. Chair Nancy MacDonald and eight members heard pitches from the Historical Commission ($30,300 for Iron Horse statue restoration), Veterans Services ($160,000 for elevator replacement), the Hingham Community Center ($185,500), Hingham Recreation ($333,500 for basketball court), Hingham Housing Authority ($299,572 for roof replacement), and the Hingham Affordable Housing Trust ($800,000 split between acquisition and Lincoln School Apartments capital projects). Estimated total FY26 funding stands at $1,684,120, leaving a projected surplus exceeding $300,000.
Committee votes final recommendations January 14 at Town Hall, with Town Meeting decision set for April 27.
