Council on Aging approves March meeting minutes, advances senior-center proposal outreach

HINGHAM — Council on Aging advances senior-center proposal with reduced $25.8M cost. Chair Joe Nevins and the council emphasized that attendance at town meeting and Saturday's vote would be critical to the proposal's success. The Outreach Subcommittee reported 12 completed house meetings with nearly 200 attendees, 150 FAQ sheets distributed, and more than 600 resident touch points made.
The council noted that the system currently holds 1,100 members at maximum capacity and has had to refer some applicants to other centers due to space constraints.
