Hingham Conservation Commission approves artificial turf waiver for shipyard restaurant. The board voted 4-1 on June 15 to grant the waiver for The Beth restaurant's outdoor patio at 18 Shipyard Drive, with Chair Carolyn Nielsen opposing. Conservation Officer Shannon Palmer stated the commission determined the artificial turf would not increase detrimental impacts to the nearby Weymouth Back River buffer zone, with the project incorporating 530 square feet of native plantings for mitigation.
The commission also voted unanimously to approve Orders of Conditions for two residential projects and to issue an Enforcement Order for 90A Industrial Park Drive requiring a restoration plan implementation by October 30, 2026.
