HINGHAM — Community Preservation Committee approves $1.86 million in grant recommendations for town meeting. Chair Nancy MacDonald and the nine-member committee voted unanimously to recommend eight projects spanning historic preservation, housing, recreation, and administrative costs, allocating $605,487 to the Hingham Affordable Housing Trust Opportunity Fund after declining to fund the trust's separate Lincoln School Apartment preservation request. The largest individual project allocations included $333,500 for Plymouth River Basketball Court, $299,572 for 30 Thaxter Street roof replacement, and $185,500 for Hingham Community Center exterior restoration.
The warrant article language was approved unanimously and will proceed to public hearings and Select Board and Advisory Committee votes before April 27 town meeting.
