Bare Cove Park Committee approves June Walk to Remember veterans event

Bare Cove Park Committee · Meeting of March 17, 2026

HINGHAM — Bare Cove Park Committee approves June veterans fundraiser and electric project. Ginger Niehoff, president of Hingham High School's Veteran's Appreciation club, will lead the Walk to Remember on June 6, expecting 200 participants with a $1,000 fundraising goal benefiting veterans in need; last year's inaugural walk drew 50 participants. The Selectboard has already approved $60,000 for dockhouse-museum electric infrastructure; the committee will determine routing from Cove area or bus depot and overhead versus underground lines while prioritizing the park's natural character and evening darkness.

The committee will hold a June in-park meeting to address a map-kiosk location discrepancy.
