Hingham reviews $50 million in departmental budgets, hears police and fire staffing concerns. Police and Fire departments both pursue warrant articles seeking removal from civil service due to staffing challenges; police reported nine open positions while fire faces an additional $110,000 in annual costs after South Shore Hospital ceased covering ambulance supplies. The Weir River Water System budget of $15,211,382 includes a three percent rate increase and $65 level charge for infrastructure improvements.

The Advisory Committee will host three community discussion sessions on the Hingham Center for Active Living beginning February 12.
