HINGHAM — Advisory Committee approves $1.9M reserve transfer for winter costs. The committee voted 13-1 to recommend withdrawing $1,939,005 from unassigned fund balance to cover overages in snow and ice expenses, out-of-district costs, and police overtime from a harder-than-expected winter season. Mary Power cast the sole dissenting vote.
In separate action, the committee unanimously approved Warrant Article 30, a land swap with Massachusetts DOT that transfers an approximately 7.8-acre parcel at the Hingham Transfer Station to the Conservation Commission in exchange for roughly two acres of town land needed for Route 3A construction. Massachusetts DOT will provide the town approximately $50,000 in mitigation funding.
